With RESPONSE:ABILITY, transmediale.11 puts forward a call for action in terms how we live on and with the Internet today. Having become a central stage for the unfolding of our public and private lives, we must ask not only how this experience of online-liveness affects and transforms our bodies and subjectivities but also, importantly, what responsibilities and possibilities this engenders for participating in the continuous process of its evolution. With this year's slogan RESPONSE:ABILITY transmediale.11 takes place at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt (House of World Cultures) in Berlin from 1-6 February 2011 presenting a dynamic programme of cutting-edge artworks, breathtaking live performances and leading artists, thinkers and activists from around the world. We are excited to announce BIFO / Franco Berardi, Tim Etchells and Carolyn Guertin as confirmed speakers for this year's conference, BODY:RESPONSE. Each day, artists and experts such as Heath Bunting and Elizabeth Stark will be available hands-on in fun workshops and open studios.
