transmediale + Open Web Award 2011 Jury

transmediale and CTM are pleased to welcome five prominent personalities in the fields of digital art and culture as the jury for the transmediale Award 2011 and, for the first ever Open Web Award.
The international jury consists of the Shanghai based curator, and media arts researcher Defne Ayas. The emphasis of her work as a curator is on new media perfomance and forms of cultural collaboration. Micz Flor is an artist, critic and early internet activist based in Berlin who recently cofounded 'Sourcefabric', a platform for the development of open source compilation tools. Digital arts professor and artist Maria Olson deals with the cultural history of technology and the politics of participation in popular culture.
Installation artist and author Brandon LaBelle experiments with the sound qualities of rooms, and in doing so concentrates on the conditions and interactions between space, sound and social structures. Matteo Pasquinelli is an author, curator and researcher at the Queen Mary University of London as well as being member of the international collective 'Edufactory'. 'Drumbeat' platform developer and cultural producer Henrik Moltke joins the jury for Mozilla, transmediale's partner for the Open Web Award 2011.
